Theater and Concert Reviews.
Dear Show-Score Member,
As you may remember, Show-Score went into “intermission” soon after Broadway shut down. With no shows to list and see together, we took a break and planned to return when NYC and NJ theater came back. We, like you, watched with dismay as that schedule slipped several times. Like many of our colleagues, we wondered how we might manage a second act.
We’re happy, therefore, to share that when theater reopens, Show-Score will be back.
We have been purchased by Today Tix, a company that shares our passion for theater and our commitment to the theater fan community. We both began with a belief that we could harness technology to make the theater landscape more accessible for fans and for new audiences, and this belief continues to propel us forward. That is why we believe Today Tix is the right steward of the Show-Score brand. Our co-founder Deeksha Gaur has joined the Today Tix team and will continue to run Show-Score to ensure continuity for our community.
When theater returns, so will Show-Score’s listings, events, and reviews. Your member reviews will stay safe and sound until then, and you’ll be able to score shows once we’re back. With Today Tix’s backing, Show-Score will continue its original mission: “discover shows you’ll love, from people you trust, at the right price for you.”
We’ll be reaching out in the coming months to hear what you would like to see in our second act, and to share additional details. Until then, we hope you’re keeping safe and we look forward to a time when we can gather again.
Show- Score allowed some very good reviews with some people who have very good knowledge about theater. Unfortunately, many people on Show-Score have no idea on how to review a play or musical. On top of lack of knowledge, many chose to add their political views which was even worse for the avid Show-Score member. I am hoping that Today Tix will find a better method on reviewing shows. It is,(or was) not uncommon to read some reviews that made no sense, nor were some reviews germane to the show.
For the Show- Score method to work it is imperative that shows are reviewed in a more pragmatic fashion. Because someone does not like the Theater temperature is no reason to dislike a show. On the other side of the coin shows reviews get flagged because an actor, producer, director etc. complain that a review was too harsh. Show Score had no rhyme nor reason on how they flagged people. This will not be an easy task for Today Tix but it is one that can greatly be improved on.
